Here's some clarifications and modifications to the guidelines. I hope this makes things easier for shopkeepers and customers alike
Images
Images posted on the HPDC need to follow the guidelines.
So a short list - that will be updated from time to time to include anything that may have been missed:
* No personal images (see note below), no personal information on the images
* Properly dressed subjects. We do not need to see, or almost see anyone's assets
* No profanity, languages other than English or other inappropriate text on the images
* No weapons of any sort. Unless it's a wand or the Sword of Gryffindor, it's not allowed.
* No copyrighted or watermarked images - it is also illegal to alter these, so do everyone a favor and don't post them here at all.
* No URLs on images.
* No linking to to other sites (including back to photobucket or imageshack)
* Image hosting accounts must be set to private.
How to post:

Image sizes
There have been many different image sizes thrown out on the site. The mods have considered them all and have decided that the following are the best sizes to go with .
Avatars: 60x60
(picture under your SN)

Thread banners: 250x50 - ALL boards
(Title of thread)

We will no longer have separate thread banner sizes for different areas of the site. We will be going with a universal size.
Topic Banners: 700x150
(Inside of threads)

Signatures: 500x200

Personal Images
'Personal' is not limited to images of you, personally or your friends and family. It also means someone elses' personal images that have been posted and (foolishly) left for everyone and anyone to view. Yes, this includes random people that you've found on Google.
Play-bys (PBs) should be celebs. And by celeb I mean an actress/actor, musician or model. Scene kids, bloggers and self-proclaimed celebs do not fall under the celeb status and may not be used.
If your play-by is not mainstream, or you would like to know if your PB can be used or not, provide the name so the mods can check it out and verify that they're not personal pics or if they can be used.

It also falls into the same category of words that are innocent when used correctly, but can be an insult or derogatory in other ways.
~shrugs~
Mods don't set the filter anyway. The WB people do. ~nods~

Well,I can understand the first two words being censored because of the way they can be used to insult. However,I completly agree with Jason about kn.ob. I mean why would that word be starred out. It's just a thing that either opens doors or else changes the station on a tv or radio, why would that word be censored at all, that makes no sense. -Michael.

Brookelle and Alex are not celebrities/models. They're e-famous, as in Myspace type, and therefore not available for use.

I just had a quick question about a couple signauters I had.
They were removed because they were not celebertys. Are we NOT allowed to use models out PB? The two people I had used were Brookelle Bones, and Alex Evan, who are models. I thought they just werent allowed to be person picture and stuff like that.

Here's another note that I thought posters should know:
When picking up your order (thread banners, siggys, pics) from a Diagon Alley shop, It would be wise to upload it into YOUR own photobucket or image or other image hosting site. THEN you can use THAT link to get a tinyurl or tinypic link, so that you can give that link to the Mods here to post for your site. Most sites are free. The reason for this? Shop owners will delete the pictures they made for you, from their albums, in order to make room for future orders. All the shops have this rule. Ok?
(willow--I have noticed this has happened...that's why I am posting this.)

I think a good piece of advice for people to follow is to wait 48 hours after orders are filled before going to work on them, This would allow sufficient time for the mods for the review the order and remove the links to those pictures and images that cannot legally be altered.
minerva_kitty: Shops are only closed if the owner ACTUALLY alters the copyrighted image. If the mods remove links and the owner does not use or alter the removed links then the shop will not be closed. Basically, mod edits are a way telling the shop owner that the image cannot legally be altered. If the mods remove links and the owner alters them "anywhoo"then Willow will close the shop as it not against site rules, but against the law,to alter copyrighted pictures. However if the owner "obeys"the mod edit by not altering the image whose link was removed then's there's no reason for the shop to be shut down. -Michael.
