Welcome to the Wizengamot.

Jobs:
Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot - Nz (Nz101nz)
Co-Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot - OPEN
Secretary - Jason (jasonhallow6)
Wizengamot Members (Multiple people required)- Qs (Quidditchstar123), Dolphina (Dolphina-Mad14), Phoenix (Phoenixfether13), Z (Zomp1234), Jarod (bloody_jarod1), Fred (f.weasley.), Professor Wudan (mrs.norris89)

Laws That Have Been Passed:

1) Ministry Employment Law:
If someone wants to become an employee of the Ministry, in any department, then they must be a frequent and active member of this site, and have a number of months of experience on this site. This number is determined by the current Head of that department.

2) Election of Heads Law:
A.) All Heads of Departments must become members of the Wizengamot .The current Minister of Magic will review applicants for Head of Department posts. He will then decide whether or not they go to the Wizengamot for a vote. Then, the Wizengamot will vote whether or not to hire the Head of Department. If the Minister objects to the applicant in question, the Wizengamot will not take a vote.
B.)If someone wishes to become Co-Head, they must be a member of that department for at least one month, and they must be an active poster. Co-Heads will be elected by Heads (Or elected by the Wizengamot,). If someone wishes to become Head of a Department in the case that the current Head retires, they must become a Co-Head first, and then they will become Head when the current Head retires.
C.) Head Inactivity Clause
If the Head of a Department is inactive (a period of time determined by the Wizengamot), then he/she will be succeeded by the Co-Head of that Department. If the Co-Head is inactive as well, then the most experienced member of the Department who fulfills Law #1 will become the Head of the Department, then he/she will chose a Co-Head. If there are no members of the Department who meet the requirements of Law #1, then an Interim Head will be chosen by the Wizengamot to run the Department. After a few months the Department being run by the Interim Head, members of the Department may apply for the Head position, including the Interim Head. The Wizengamot will then vote on the best person for the Head position. The newly elected Head would then choose a Co-Head of their choice.

3) Minimal Quidditch Team Law:
For a Quidditch team to be recognized by the Ministry of Magic as a "quidditch team," they must have a minimum of 2 active Chasers, one active Keeper, and one active Seeker, as well as a Captain. If a team is recognized as a "team," then they are eligible to sign-up for Ministry Events. The position of Team Certifer will occasionally make inspections on already recognized teams and has the right to deem the team "not recognized" if the team doesn't meet the minimal criteria, as stated above.

4) Captains' Overruling Law: A rule can be invented or deleted if every Captain of active teams, not a majority, agree to it and can overrule the department's view on it. This only affects laws/match rules that affect Quidditch.

5) Minister Retirement Law:
Once a Minister of Magic has retired and chosen a successor, they cannot demand their job as Minister of Magic back, if they chose to exit retirement. If they wanted to become Minister again, they would, as any other person, have to get elected as a Co-Minister first.

6) Rules of the Wizengamot:

1) Only one law at a time is voted on.

2) The Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot must approve an idea and then it can be voted on.

3) A majority decides a vote, meaning over half of the members is a majority. As of now, a minimum of 5 votes are needed to decided a majority.

4) The Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot reserves the right to kick any inactive members/workers of the Wizengamot. However, before someone is kicked, there must be a warning posted, stating that the person has one week to post or else he or she will be kicked from the Wizengamot.

7) Department Regulation Law:
All 7 Departments that are present in the HP books are present on this site, some are active and some are not active. These Departments will be OOC or IC, which will be decided by the Wizengamot. The Wizengamot will brainstorm real-life applications of the Department; if they can't find any, then the Department would be IC, if they can, then the Department would be OOC. If someone wants to create a new Department, then he/she will ask the Wizengamot (who will vote on it) and he/she will be the Head of it, as well as determine if it's OOC or IC. If the Wizengamot disagrees with the OOC/IC decision, then they will vote on it.

8) Monthly Meetings Law
All Heads of a Departments must have a mandatory monthly meeting with their staff.

Yeah, I'll vote on it since they're inactive.

My Vote: Option # 1

Tally:

Option # 1: 5 | Option # 2: 2

We have a majority, so the law has been passed -knocks magical hammer-

So since the other two members are not available, maybe we should revise the law.
