[Eh. It's better than what mine'll be.]
Darcy wasn't the type to get angry easily or let anyone get to her. But in this case, Rookwood was getting on her nerves. Not only did she have to put up with him for the next few weeks, but he was her underling. It was a big thing to be put in charge of the whole mission but having someone as ignorant and selfish as Asher be her second rank... Darcy made a mental note to include this in her next message to Alistair. She had to at least know the reason behind it. And as for regretting talking to Rookwood like she was? Darcy knew it was better to ignore him but she couldn't help but get annoyed at the way he talked back to her.
"... Otherwise, I'm leaving and I'll let you come to me on your own time, as you seem to want it anyway." She glared at him for a second as he looked away from her towards the crowd. A certain part of her was getting miffed at his attitude, especially when he just looked away like that. Another was telling her to march off and complain to Alistair but that wasn't her. Maybe someone else would become fed up with it and have him deal with the situation but Darcy knew a good leader never did that.
"Fine. If you have anything for me, just let me know," she snapped, narrowing her eyes at Asher. She wanted to say more, to tell him that she wasn't going to tolerate his attitude for long, but instead, forced out a senseless "Have a good night, Rookwood." With that, Darcy turned on her heel and made her way to the dungeons, trying very hard to control her anger.
As she continued deeper, a small voice in the back of her mind scolded her. What was she thinking, almost losing her head back there? Alistair didn't choose her because she was a hothead. He said specifically that she was made for this job- trained, more specifically. Darcy had the potential and outshined the other Daughters. Good leaders- the best leaders- always kept their cool.
Darcy ignored her fellow Slytherins in the common room and continued upstairs. Her mind was spinning and she needed some peace. She was never one to be social or a people person of course. So she let the few girls in the dorm look at her and run out before proceeding to unpack her things. It was just something to get her mind of Asher. It was only the first day and there were more to come. For the next few weeks, she wasn't going to be thinking about Potions and grades; only plans and certain students would be occupying her time. And Darcy had to start tomorrow.
As she lay down on her bed, she thought about the traits she had to look for in people. There was the one saying: "Don't judge a book by its cover." People never understood that sometimes you had to. In fact, many people were just as they looked. And Darcy had an eye for that. Not only was she going to look for certain people, she was going to watch them. Actions and words told a lot about a person. Maybe Rookwood had his own way of knowing people. It may or may not be the same as Darcy's, but Alistair had placed him under her for a reason.
[Yup. That was crappy.]

He's weird...
"He's Asher.." He replied with out thinking. His bright blue eyes had become slightly clouded over as he watched his friend walk past them. Nathan switched his views, falling onto Spencer with interest. "I've been friends with him since, what first year or something." He said mumbled, almost under his breath.
Weird. Weird that they were called 'friends' when they hadn't spoke to each other in a bit. Of course, he could have said that with Peyton as well. Nathan rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly as he watched their picture descend down the corridor. Too far away now. As interestingly as it seemed, Nathan did get along with Asher, Peyton, a couple of others that were more eccentric than others, or perhaps darker. Hufflepuff had been true, though. Nathan became friends with everyone. His attention zeroed in on Spencer. Even with her, he knew that eventually something of the sort would take course. How many times had they run into each other and not exactly say much? Now, at least, there was some sort of push towards conversation. Nathan would like to become more than just acquaintances, but he was often that way towards everyone he liked. Spencer seemed like the boss, the one that would take action before anyone decided. But unlike what she seemed to be, he knew that she was intelligent. That in itself gave him more of an excuse to converse with her. This year was going to be a bit rough, so it was good to have friends in those places, correct?
The conversation had turned so that it had become quite desperate. Or at least Nathan was beginning to feel that slight awkwardness. Granted it was something that was written across his forehead 'beware, highly awkward', yet conversations had the potential to be saved with Quidditch. Nathan had swallowed hard after she had mentioned it. Had she really? A sliver of a smirk appeared on his face with confident ease as he began to settle down against the wall.
"Oh it's great, so far." So far was very little. The season hadn't started yet and it just consisted of him outside on his broom for hours at a time if given. "I expect it to be a good year, or so I hope."
It was really unfortunate that the team was as bad as they were. If it truly wasn't for Nathan, they wouldn't have had a fighting chance. Hufflepuff was good, but every year they came out as the last. Sometimes they would persevere and become at least second to last. Nathan couldn't help the situation, so he just did what he could. Sometimes it involved training others, sometimes it was just doing his best and calling it a day. That's why his dreams definitely remained some where else than just the lower class, so called Quidditch teams. Even if he was a humble student, he wanted the best when it came to this and he would do anything, yes anything, just to obtain it. He took a big breath in and then just sighed. He didn't want to blow her head up with Quidditch facts and practice times. It took a lot to switch the conversation considering he was dying to explain to her about a new move that they were trying out. But he knew that it was a simple starter to his mouth moving. So he directed it towards something he knew Spencer would enjoy. That was anything book like, yeah? Or well, at least anything that had to do with academics.
"Have you read over the new charms book?" Nathan raised his eyebrows at her. As if he would know a single thing in there. Well take that back, yes he would know somethings but he had a good feeling that Spencer had already bought it and gone through most of it. "According to Witch Weekly it was drawing in students quicker than you could say flobberworm, or something."
Nathan looked over at her with curiosity. His eyes were definitely intrigued, in more than just what she had to say. He got caught on the thick eyelashes that surrounded her pale blue eyes. At points he believed his were rather striking, but he noticed that Spencer took the cake. It didn't take long for him to snap out of it though when someone yelled and then ran around the corner giggling uncontrollably as they were chased by another student. Nathan let his eyes fall on them for a moment, looking over his shoulder before, of course, his attention went directly back to Spencer.

[Prepare for a sucky post. But... at least it's a post.]
Asher was fuming. Never had he hated someone so much in his entire life, and that was saying something, considering he didn’t like many people. Not only was she talking down to him like a child, she was acting as if he, Asher Rookwood, did not know how to do his job right. Of course, that wasn’t the case. His Godfather had been helping plan Asher for this since his parents had died. All the repressed anger that Asher had in his body, soul, and mind was able to come out with his training. He was very good at what he did and, if Darcy Donahue couldn’t see that, than Asher thought she was pretty stupid.
However, he put on smile. “And if you keep talking to me like this,” he began in a pretty good imitation of her voice, “then you will regret it.”
His smile dropped quickly and he crossed his arms. “Now, I know what to do, boss… but, if you have anything more in mind, let me know. Otherwise, I’m leaving and I’ll let you come to me on your own time, as you seem to want it anyway.”
He looked away at the passing crowd. Most people were chatting animatedly, talking to their friends of their wonderful summers and just catching up. For a split second, Asher wondered what it would be like, to be like them. Instead of talking mass destruction, he’d be sitting in a common room, drinking tea and talking of the summer romance he had with some random American girl that he had met while on a trip with his family. Instead, his summer had been filled with drama and Dark Arts. His best friend and only lover ever, Peyton, had ended all ties with him and Antonin for good. It had been building up for a long time, but Asher had never actually thought it would come. Her words- though there had been plenty of cruel ones in their lifetime together- had never heard so badly in his entire life. They had never made that lasting, sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach that wouldn’t seem to go away. It made him want to curl up into a ball and hide. Instead, he took his anger out in the Arts, which is what he did best. He blinked, snapping out of his brief day-dream and focusing back on the blissfully unaware.
Who was he kidding? He loved being evil too much to be one of them.

Keagan didn't mind the silence. It just meant that no one was going to be asking her questions. But it didn't seem like Max would be the type to batter her about some answers. That was a plus. She liked the start-of-term feast, but she hated being around that many people. It was always crowded and people were always loud and such. Keagan liked it quiet and not alot of people around. Being in the famous school in the wizarding world, she knew silence and emptyness was not going to happen. CJ was the only one that seen her personality or that she would talk alot. There just wasn't anyone else in this school that could open her up like he could.
She looked over at the boy when he asked her what was wrong. It was a question, yes, but she knew that her being upset was written all over her face. Sighing, she brushed some brown hair behind her ear and shrugged.
"Friend drama. My best friend, CJ, is being an idiot already."
She said nodding her head. Her brown eyes went back out the window and again, sighed. This was going to be a long year. Hopefully, not alot changes, but she knows deep down, alot will change. There was nothing she could do to stop it. That pained her deeply. If CJ gets a girlfriend, then she would be pushed to the back just like all the other friends do when someone gets a companion. But that's just alright. Keagan knew that it would hurt her at first, but maybe, there was someone out there for her too.

Max nodded, still saying little, lost in his own thoughts. His two best friends, Irv Lewis (Huffelpuff) and John Miller (Ravenclaw) he hadn't seen on the train, but Max knew they'd be at the start-of-term feast and he gave a slight grin of anticipation. His stomach rumbled - unlike most of the Hogwarts students he wasn't a big fan of most of the strange sweets on the tea trolley. He'd had nothing except for a couple of pumpkin pasties since leaving the house that morning, and then it had only been a quick piece of toast and coffee, since Max preferred to sleep as long as usual.
His gaze strayed once again to the girl across from him. While he usually didn't go out of his way, there was still something in his eyes of the look on her face that had got his attention earlier. The gentleman in Max, mostly drilled in by his father, got the better of him and he leaned back in the carriage seat. It was a long ride to Hogwarts yet, from Hogsmeade station - there wasn't much else to do anyway.
"Er - sorry - it's just that you seemed upset before. Are you all right?"

Keagan was alittle relieved that this boy told her that there was room in this carriage. Honestly, if she had to walk again because of missing one, she was going to be mad this year. Sighing, she ran her hand through her brown hair and looked out the window. Maybe this is the year that would change things for her. She is hoping in a good way though. Something deep down was telling her that it might be the other way around. Keagan leaned back in the seat and made sure that her notebook was still in her pocket. Merlin knows, that she would flip out if she didn't have her notebook.
Maybe she might meet some new people this year and have some more friends. Don't get her wrong, she loved being friends with CJ. But there were times that she wished that she had a girl to talk to. There was no way that she was going to be talking to her mother. That woman would only belittle Keagan and then stomp off to her next little 'boyfriend'. Yea, alot of bonding is going on in that part of her life. Now her and her father were close. Keagan seemed to be the one that was more upset about his death than her mother was. Or it could just be their own ways of mourning his death. She still didn't understand why her mother did the things that she did, if she was still mourning. This girl was not going to ask her. That would just be a bad way to start a conversation.
Keagan knew how Max felt. Her mother has never written, nor has she ever sent her a package for her birthday or anything. It wasn't because of what Max's father's excuse was. But just because they don't get along.
She usually just sits quietly in the carriage, drawing. But with the boy telling her that she could join him in his, she knew that she should introduce herself. Maybe that might not be such a bad thing, right?
Smiling, she brought her hand out to shake his when he said his name. Keagan pulled back and then leaned back up against her seat.
"Nice to meet you, Max."
The brown haired girl nodded and then turned her attention back out the window. Of course, she wasn't going to take it personally. Keagan was the same way. She pulled out her notebook and started to draw, just because. There was never a time that anyone didn't see her without her notebook. This girl kept her notebook with her at all times. Her brown eyes glanced over at Max when he went back to doing whatever it was that he was doing. Then her attention went back on the notebook in front of her.

Max sighed with relief as the girl climbed inside and the carriage started moving. He was going home, away from the Muggle house he'd been trapped in for eight weeks, away from his father, who thought of him as some kind of a freak - gazed at him with the kind of contempt with which one might look upon some unidentifiable scum on the bottom of one's shoe. Just what every sixteen-year-old always wanted from his father.
Shaking his head and forcing his dad from his mind, Max focused on the ten wonderful months that would be spent without his father until next summer - Max spent every Christmas and Easter break at Hogwarts and no one seemed to miss him for it... Max was just as glad. The school year always seemed to fly by - he would, before he knew it, be getting back on the Hogwarts Express for the return trip to Muggle London - but that was ten parent-free months away.
Max had never so much as received a letter from his father while at Hogwarts, let alone a care package. He'd watched the others get their mail by owl post, but Erik, the handsome barn owl he'd bought his first year, had only ever brought him the occasional message from a teacher.
It took a moment for him to realize the girl who'd joined him in the carriage was speaking to him and Max blinked, focusing his attention on the here and now.
"I'm Keagan Lane, by the way." she was saying. Max nodded and offered his hand, hoping he didn't appear too pompous in doing so.
"Max Petersen."
Max didn't say much, and hoped the girl didn't take it personally - it was just the way that Max was. He didn't say much to anyone - rarely volunteered answers in class, unless called upon to do so (and then, the answer was usually the right one). He supposed, it was a result of his father's attitude of children being seen and not heard. It had been drilled into him for as long as he could remember and even though it was as far from necessary to follow at Hogwarts - one could run screaming through the halls if one so desired, though he might catch a raised eyebrow or a reprimand from Headmistress McGonagall, it wouldn't be more than a standard detention for mischief-making - Max had found it a difficult habit to break. Though the look on his face remained pleasant, Max fell back into silence again, but it was a comfortable one.

Keagan knew that once CJ and the girl got together, she would be out of the picture. No one is going to hanging around their best friend, that is a girl, when they have someone else better to hang out with. This bothered her something terrible. But there was nothing she could do about it. CJ was his own person and if he wanted a girlfriend, then he was going to have a girlfriend. Keagan sure wasn't going to stop him. She just wishes deep down that he doesn't forget who his friend was from the beginning. After all the stuff that they have been through, she hopes it doesn't just end because of him having someone else. This would probably kill her inside.
Sighing, she turned her attention over to a voice that she heard. A boy was standing at a carriage talking to her about there was room in that one. Smiling ever so slightly, she walked over towards the carriage that the boy was at and nodded.
"Thanks. I was afraid of being left again."
She said softly. It was true. Keagan hated being left behind. The small smile was still on her lips as she climbed into the carriage and sat across from the boy. Judging by his robes, he was a Ravenclaw. That didn't bother her any. Sometimes people from other houses were nice people. That's what she heard. Keagan usually just kept to herself and drew. Maybe sitting in this carriage with this boy, might help her out of her current state of mind. Should she introduce herself? That would make this carriage ride alittle less uneasy, right?
"I'm Keagan Lane, by the way."
Keagan said softly. If the boy was as nice as she thought he might be, this might not be such a bad ride to the school.

Once most of the others had already cleared out of the Hogwarts Express, Max looked around for a remaining carriage. As always, the magnificent Thestrals very few other people could see were pulling the carriages. He reached up, almost absent-mindedly, to stroke one gently before passing it a carefully saved piece of meat from one of his sandwiches, which the Thestral snapped up and swallowed whole. Max gave a slight grin, then got into the carriage.
It would not be long before he was home, tucked up comfortably in the Ravenclaw dormitory by the fire, his nose in the first thick book he could lay his hands on. Max never got to spend much time reading at home – it was a job to do his homework when he *was* home, he had to wait until his father went to work to sneak his spellbooks out from under his bed. They weren’t kept locked up, but if his father caught him learning magic, he’d hover around tormenting him endlessly. Only at Hogwarts could he get away from the jeers and taunts about who – what he was – and be accepted as normal.
As Max looked around, he noticed another girl – he’d seen her on the train but didn’t know her – looking around for a carriage. For a moment he considered whether he should draw attention to himself – it usually wasn’t a good idea in his house – but other than that she looked upset, there wasn’t anything particularly threatening about this girl.
“Hey,” he called. “There’s room here. I don’t bite.” He flashed her a very brief smile.

Keagan didn't understand all the fuss about the other gender. Of course, once upon a time, she admitted to CJ that she liked him, but that was it. Never since that day, has she ever tried to get him to like her any other way, but as a friend. It would be heartbreaking if she did try to do something to get him to notice her and he just stop talking to her all together. CJ was her only friend. The only person that understands why she is the way that she is. Or what really happened to her dad and about her mother. No one else has ever gained that trust from her. For some odd reason, CJ just gained it automatically when they first met. It was long before they ever thought about Hogwarts. When her father died, she basically cut out the outside world and he helped her through it. Of course, she was still alittle uneasy around someone other than her best friend. But he got her to see that she couldn't stay mad at the world for something that happened so long ago.
She knew that there would come a time that CJ would find someone that he likes. That scared the air out of her. What if he gets so caught up in her, that he forgets about her? All these things run through her head every single year, every single day. It doesn't matter what he tells her about never forgetting his friend, she still thinks about the 'what ifs'. The little things they use to do during the summer breaks, or the fact that he invites her over to his house for holidays, so she didn't have to be alone with her mother and her 'boyfriends' was something that she cherished and didn't want it taken away. But they were growing up and the fact that the urge to have a companion and not just a friend, was overwhelming. Keagan knew all about that. The brown haired girl knew that she would never have someone like that. CJ could have anyone he wanted if he just talked to one. What would she do if he ever got a girlfriend? There might be alittle jealousy, anger, hurt, and the last thing would be feeling alone.
Keagan looked over at the girl and CJ, as he looked at her with those puppy love sick eyes. The girl came her a bright smile and she didn't know what to think about that. It's not that it wasn't nice to acknowledged by someone else, but it was alittle odd. Her attention went back over to CJ when he called her that nickname that she has been trying to get him to stop calling her that. It was alittle annoying that he called her that in front of someone else. But of course, she had her own nickname for him. CJ. That was her nickname for him.
"That's what you said last year, CJ."
She sighed as she put her hands in her pockets. Keagan could tell that the crowd was dying down and that would be a great time to get a carriage. Something told her that he wouldn't move from this bench when he has such a pretty girl sitting next to him. This girl was making her feel alittle envious. Keagan knew that she was no way as pretty as the girl sitting next to CJ. Her mother had beat it (metaphorically speaking) that she wasn't nearly as pretty as some girls she had seen at the train station, earlier in her schooling. So whoever this girl was, she was amazing pretty and Keagan knew that is what had CJ's attention when she first came over. Just looking at the girl, she smiled softly and wished that she could look like her. There wasn't alot of girls that she wished she could look like, but this girl, was making it really hard not to think it.
The brown haired girl looked over at CJ when he said something about her getting her own carriage. Was he serious? Then she saw the tilt over at the girl's direction. So it was beginning huh? Sighing, she shook her head.
"Whatever, Cassidy"
That meant she was mad at him. She never called him his first name, unless she was mad at him for some reason. Keagan gave a slight glare at CJ and then turned around. If she was going to get a carriage, she needs to get one now. If he wanted to spend some time playing googly eyes with that girl, then he can go ahead. Of course, she doesn't blame the girl for CJ blowing her off. Not her fault at all. It was her hormones raging best friend's fault. Keagan looked around and finally found a carriage that wasn't taken yet. Smiling, she made sure that her notebook was still safely hidden in her robes as she neared it. She sighed. Things were going to be different this year after all.

&&She's got a
feelin'
Hel had been watching this strangely compelling boy as she neared. Slightly disappointed that she'd been forced to interrupt what must have been wonderfully curious thoughts, in order to announce her presence to him. But, that misfortune went away, as soon as he opened his eyes. Being so close, she could tell for sure that his complicated irises held every color possible by non metamorphmagi. Although, that rare lineage was not something she could have put past him. She found herself studying every aspect of his appearance that her eyes could find, all under the guise of waiting for a seat. Therefore, as she caught him lightly shaking his head at her, she felt her heart sink for a number of silly reasons, along with some not so silly ones. The most absurd of which being that she'd have to stop looking at him.
But then he nodded at her, and she found herself laughing. Chuckling, both in response to his unintended antics, and in relief that no one had chosen to magically graffiti that particular bench and prevent her from sitting where she'd very much like to.
While she maneuvered to sit, she almost missed that smile of his. And when she caught it, that blush she'd been holding in, escaped with unbridled ferocity. Hel would have looked away to save her skin from scrutiny, but she could bare to tear her eyes away from his natural spectacle.
She'd been busy repeating his name, and reliving the sound of his voice, in her head, when Cassidy Jazz asked for her own name. Her eyes widened on two factors. The lesser of which being that he didn't know it already. But she could understand that given that she hadn't seen him around before. The more important factor was that this boy actually
wanted
to know.
There would be no awkward grins or forced handshakes with him. That notion in itself was incredibly freeing.
But this boy certainly deserved an answer.
“Oh, I'm Helvetica Jazz.”
She told him, nodding her head as she did so and grinning at him fully. It took a few seconds before she realized exactly what she'd said. When that shocked realization hit, her green eyes grew wide as saucers, and a bright pink flare flooded across her cheeks as her hands snapped to them in surprised embarrassment.
“Wait, no! - I, uhh, no, I mean! -”
She sputtered hurriedly, feeling like she'd just given far too much of herself away, months before she'd even thought of intending to. She bowed her head, feeling absolutely ridiculous, as if she'd suddenly grown a red rubber nose, and the last phrase came out in a mumble.
“...I'm Helvetica Ginfizz. Nice to meet you.”
There. That was what she had meant to say. But, it had taken so much effort. That this had occurred had thoroughly surprised Helvetica. She had no illusions, however, about why that had been. She suspected that she'd been busy deceiving herself with universal optimism, until this exact instance. There was no denying it now, however. Now it was too late. She knew.
Hel always froze up around those who made her pulse quicken, and that was something Cassidy Jazz was certainly managing. Helvetica had a history of becoming so nervous around those she liked, that not only did she jam her foot in her mouth, but her face and shoulders hurt from muscle tension. She built the person that she viewed fairly, up so high that they were gods and she was a squashble but revivable cockroach. Overbearing and impassioned, she had a tendency to scare those she was trying to endear herself to, almost as much as they did her. She was perfect for stringing along and ditching on the side of the road.
This was what had happened time and time again to Helvetica. Probably because she harbored too many emotions for own good. Only three times over the span of seventeen years, had a crush ended in something other than complete devastation and the necessity to avoid those people for the rest of her time at Hogwarts. Beyond that, only once had it been reciprocated. That encounter, sadly, had been a mistake. Fergus Holmes had been neglectful, lazy, and yet smothering. Smothering enough to make her do things she'd regretted. But, enough about that.
Needless to say, her third year was not one she liked to remember. In fact, she was surprised she was even recalling it. This Cassidy person must have had more influence over her psyche than she'd allowed herself to fathom. This stuff was buried. Helli liked to lock away the fact that she didn't have the best romantic track record. Sealing it deep within her labyrinth, so that the twists and turns tricked her into forgetting it was there. It was hidden so craftily and self-deceivingly away that other people shouldn't be able to sense it, let alone cause this particular malevolent memory to stir. That path was a place of darkness. And, in darkness, Helvetica felt alone. Darkness didn't get along with hope. Yet, hope what was Cassidy brought somehow. He must've had the key to her maze.
Her maze had minotaurs. Minotaurs that wreaked havoc. Things had even gone so awry in the last couple of years that she'd spent the summer developing the constitution not to put all her expectations in others. For the guts not to let anyone get so deeply under her skin that they had the power to throw her away. She had even considered giving up on relationships entirely. But there was a small spark in this small girl that a part of her doubted could ever be extinguished. A sunlit flare that burned with blind tenacity towards the infinite possibilities of the future. Cassidy Jazz had somehow given this drive new meaning, gave the aimless firefly within her the wings of an unstoppable dragon. just by sitting there in front of her. By virtue of his pure existence, she was suddenly shining brighter.
Helli decided that she liked this new feeling, as shaky as it might have been. With a smile smile to herself, she entertained the hope that sitting with Cassidy would allow her to bask in the warmth and strength of his light a little longer.
Just as Helvetica was setting into her spot and finally getting used to sitting next to the cutest, potentially most interesting, person she'd seen in a long while, a female voice jarred her from her thoughts. The brunette seemed to send her a somewhat hesitant smile. Which Hel returned much more brilliantly, greeting the pale girl without a word.
Hesitancy was something could definitely understand, It had taken Helvetica years of practice not to tense with irritation when encountering the fairer gender, and she probably would never have stopped if she were friends with someone like Cassidy. And, the way that she crossed her arms and sited a prior happening, not to mention the casual, even playful way, with which Cassidy had responded to her, they were definitely at least friends. Helvetica only hoped “Keago” wasn't something more significant than a friend.
Helvetica studied her. She was cute. Very cute. Especially in the way her warm brown eyes matched the freckles on her cheeks. In fact, if it hadn't been for the nervous, slightly hostile way in which she held herself, not to mention the fact that Helbetica was completely mesmerized by her caramel haired male friend, Helli might have been tempted to sit with her instead.
She bit her lip involuntarily as the girl mentioned that they should get a carriage and go inside the castle. Helvetica's legs were small, and she wasn't sure she could run fast enough to catch up to them once they reached the masses at the entrance.
Therefore, she found herself breathing a sigh of relief that she couldn't contain. As Cassidy suggested that Keago find a carriage of her own and meet them within. Though she felt sorry for his friend, this likely implied that they were nothing more. A fact that Helvetica would be rather pleased about, if it were true. Besides, she wanted to spend more time with Cassidy just now, without the hassle of having to find him again.
Hel knew all this was a little hypocritical, and that she'd probably had similar feelings about the guys in her past. But, the way Cassidy lit up when he smiled at her seemed to have a profound effect on everything in the universe. The world was missing something if this boy wasn't smiling. And, she'd noticed something when he invited her to sit with him, His eyes were the color of heaven.
She wondered what Theo would say. Probably that he needed a sandwich.

Cassidy was leaning back against the bench, staring at all the people. As much as he may not like big crowds he always loved watching people and then making fun of them. It was just something that Keagan and himself had always done to pass time when their mothers were shopping. He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. He had to wait for the crowd to die down if he didn't he would surely have a panic attack and that wouldn't be fun, he'd be stuck in the Hospital Wing all night long and he just couldn't have that, he was not going to miss the feast, he had missed it the year before because he was too much of a 'pansy' as his father liked to put it. God he loathed his father at time, well, his mother too, and his sister. Okay, he just really disliked his entire family. They just didn't understand him. He needed to find someone that could understand the REAL him. Yeah, sure Keagan knew Cass very well. Almost more then he knew himself, but there were still a few things that she didn't know or that she didn't get about him. And he wanted someone that got him completely. From his obsession with the Unforgivable Curses (not for the reason you're thinking) to his love of the muggle candy Twizzlers. But he doubted that he would ever find someone like that.
Just as he had closed his eyes and leaned his head back he heard a small voice ask him if the seat next to him was taken. At first he thought it was Keagan putting on a fake voice and messing with him, but when he opened his eyes they landed on the most beautiful creature he had ever seen. He blinked a few times and then stared at her for a moment, taking in all of her beauty. But then he realized that he was staring and his face turned red and he coughed before nodding his head, but then he stopped nodding and quickly shook his head.
"I mean no, go ahead, no one's name is on it."
The young man let a smile land on his face and he tilted his head to the side, waiting for her to sit down. When she had finally done so he decided to try and make small talk, something that Cassidy was never good at, but it was worth a shot, he wasn't going to let this girl sit next to him and not say a word to her. She was too....perfect. Well, she may not have been, he didn't know, but just from looking at her he knew that he wanted her and he would try his best to get her. But he was never good with girls, that's why he'd only had like 2 girlfriends in his entire life. And he knows it's not because he's ugly, because believe me, he was not, it was just that he was quiet, reserved, wasn't a people person and besides, he was always afraid of talking to girls that he liked. To anyone really. It just wasn’t his thing and probably never would be, no matter how hard his parents tried to change him. That had even gotten him a muggle doctor to try and help him. A MUGGLE doctor….Cassidy just didn’t understand.
“My name is Cassidy Jazz. What’s your’s?”
And there is his attempt at small talk. He of course had to introduce himself. He just wanted to know her name, she didn’t have to like him. As long as he knew her. Just as he had introduced himself to her he heard a familiar voice and his head turned in her direction as she spoke, sighing heavily. Of course she was going to complain at him, he had made them miss the carriages last year and the feast, he would complain at himself too. He raised an eyebrow and then gave her a half grin, shaking his head.
“Oh relax Keago. We’ll get a carriage. I just want to wait a little longer.”
He said and looked around once more. The crowd was dying down a little bit. Maybe they would get that carriage now, but he really didn’t want to move. He wanted to talk to this girl. He swallowed and then looked back to Keagan.
“Why don’t you go get a carriage and I will meet you up at the school?”
He suggested to Keagan, glancing slightly at Helvetica, hoping that Keagan would get the picture. He knew she probably would. Cass only hoped that she wouldn’t get upset with him about it. He knew that she liked him, but he had told her that he didn’t like her like that and probably never would. He just didn’t want her mad at him, or upset with him, because when she wasn’t talking to him he felt like crap, he always did.

[[sorry it's oober crappy and it took forever to get it out]]

Spencer blinked a few times, a little in awe that she had actually run into someone. And not just anyone, but Nathan, whom she had a few run-ins with. And yet, they never seemed to really talk about anything. Just excuse themselves and go on about their way was the usual. But she knew about him, and his sister, who had left Hogwarts before he could. She glanced up at his tall form and shook her head. How could she have not seen that coming? She supposed her nose was buried a little too deep in her planner. Spence made a mental note to not read and walk in a dark, crowded hallway again. Especially since running into people and scattering your papers everywhere wasn't exactly perfect behavior. It reminded her of the time she had a quaffle flying towards her face in the court yard, and Nathan had been there, and caught it before it could hit her, though she knocked all her things to the ground, similar to now.
She grabbed her book from him and nodded slowly, standing to her full height. Which was not very tall, and she felt even shorter standing before him. Before she could open her mouth to speak again, a younger boy flew up beside them and stopped awkwardly, glancing at the two of them hesitantly. Spencer raised her brows similar to Nathan and watched the boy grab a book and run away again. She shook her head as he shrugged, and she quietly placed her books back into her bag, where they would stay until she was stationary somewhere. When she looked back up at Nathan, his eyes were transfixed somewhere behind her. She whipped her blonde hair around and narrowed her eyes when she saw what he was staring at. That Asher guy again. Funny how he seemed to pop up everywhere. Or maybe it was just coincidence. She rolled her eyes and shook her head as she turned back to the boy before her.
"He's weird.."
That was all she could really think to say about that. But she heard his question and nodded quickly, a small smile playing at her lips. "Oh, yes. I'm pretty excited about the new Charms teacher. He seems nice." She gave him a smile again and felt a little flutter in her stomach. Was she..getting nervous? What was this? This never happened. That was odd. She furrowed her brows slightly and played with the straps of her bag. There was an awkward silence growing, and Spencer hated those. She pondered for a moment about what to say.
"So..how's quidditch?" she asked, knowing that he was a huge quidditch buff. Hopefully that would rid the awkwardness a little.
